A Thanksgiving Letter to God

A Thanksgiving Letter to God

Dear God,

As Thanksgiving nears, I am constantly reminded that I cannot thank You enough for all You have done. Through Your Word, I am reminded of only a fraction of what You have and can do.

Lord, I thank You for being the same yesterday, today, and forever. You are the anchor of my life.

I thank You for breathing life into me. Just as You did Adam, You created me in Your image giving me a purpose.

Your mercy is unmatched, protecting Cain after stumbling into anger and murdering his brother. He called out for protection and You delivered with the mark. Against You alone have I sinned and by Your mercy alone am I saved.

I thank You for guiding me out of pain and suffering. Like Joseph, You raised me out of slavery and made me righteous. You turned my test into a testimony of Your glory.

When giants come, You defeat them as You did with David. Here I stand, not with a sword, but with Your name alone. You are the one who casts out all fear.

The world has tried to trap me and ridicule me, but I know my Savior is with me. Just as You shut the mouths of the lions Daniel was facing, Your Truth shuts the mouths of the enemy’s lies.

Of most importance, You died on the cross. Because Your love knows no bounds, You paid the price I never can. The punishment has been fulfilled.

Though I have denied You before, You stayed close to me. Like Peter, You asked, “Do You love me?” Then You used me again for Your will.

Changing my heart, You have found a place in me. Similar to Paul, You changed who I am. A new creation has been born by the blood You shed.

Thank You for being the catalyst in their story as well in mine. We don’t deserve Your presence, but yet, here You are.
